恭维客户的话
在有的场合恭维别人也是一种美德，只是不要说那些不是出于内心的话。当你认为这样恭维最恰当时，那就多恭维他几句，这就是所谓极好的恭维时机。只要恭维得恰当，自己发自内心羡慕对方，对方埋藏于内心的自尊心被你所承认，那他一定非常高兴。
恭维时一定要有诚恳的态度。只有态度诚恳，购买者才对你的恭维感兴趣，你才能收到理想的效果。如果你的恭维毫无诚恳之意，让购买者感到虚伪，那么这样的恭维还是不要为好。
无论是谁，对待赞美之词都不会不开心，让别人开心，我们并不因此受损，何乐而不为呢?如果你照这一准则办事，你几乎不会再遇到麻烦，它会给你带来无数的朋友，会让你时时感到幸福快乐。正如我们已经看到的那样，人性中最强烈的欲望是成为举足轻重的人，人性中最根深蒂固的本性是想得到赞赏。人之所以区别于动物，也正是因为有这种欲望。
不仅如此，也正是因为有这种欲望，人类才会创造出文明来。
不要抢话也不要插话。每当想表明自己的观点时，想马上插话的诱-惑通常是难以抗拒的。但是，如果你插话了，就会给人以这样的印象：觉得他的话不值一听。你可以默默记下客户语言的内容或者是关键词语，这样能保证不至于忘记自己的观点。当客户说完后，你再表达自己的观点。
如果客户是位年长者，在称呼上要礼貌些，在语气上要委婉些，在语速上要舒缓些，在话题上要“投其所好”。
清朝末年著名学者俞樾在他的《一笑》中，讲过这样一个故事：有个京城的官吏，要调到外地上任。临行前，他去跟恩师辞别。
恩师对他说：”外地不比京城，在那儿做官很不容易，你应该谨慎行事。”
官吏说：”没关系。现在的人都喜欢听好话，我呀，准备了一百顶高帽子，见人就送他一顶，不至于有什么麻烦。”
恩师一听这话，很生气，以教训的口吻对他的学生说：”我反复告诉过你，做人要正直，对人也该如此，你怎么能这样?”
官吏说：”恩师息怒，我这也是没有办法的办法。要知道，天底下像您这样不喜欢戴高帽的`能有几位呢?”
官吏的话刚说完，恩师就得意地点了点头：”你说的倒也是”。
从恩师家出来，官吏对他的朋友说：”我准备的一百顶高帽，现在仅剩九十九顶了?
这虽然是个笑话，但却说明了一个问题，就是谁都喜欢听赞美的话，就连那位教育学生”为人要正直”的老师也未能免俗。
按布朗戴斯大学教育马斯洛的需要理论来解释，是因为人都有获得尊重的需要，即对力量、权势和信任的需要;对名誉、威望的向往;对地位、权利、受人尊重的追求。而赞美则会使人的这一需要得到极大的满足。正如心理学家所指出的：每个人都有渴求别人赞扬的心理期望，人一被认定其价值时，总是喜不自胜。
