Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen,
There is no doubt that English is the world wide language in the 21st century. So you may think we should study English well and use it perfectly? Exactly!
I want to say that the purpose of learning English is not to admire foreign countries. And learning English is not only to pass the exams or communicate with others, but also could make contributions for our country! For us is to:
Master the language in order to transform the advanced techniques and manage experiences of the world into the treasure of China. We should let people around the world know China, and show our culture of long standing and brightness.
Remember that English doesn’t belong to America, England or Australia. English is the wealth of humans.
Speak English fluently, to be an international Chinese!
[1] Please don't think that learning English is too difficult. Everything can be mastered if you work hard and practice enough. You can speak wonderful English and have perfect pronunciation if you just remember that learning a foreign language takes time.
[2] Try to find a friend so that you can study and practice together. Don't bother worrying about your mistakes. Use tapes with charming voices and pronunciation. Always follow along and repeat after the speaker on the tape. It's important to make English learning a part of your daily routine. You should take English as your food. Learn from every mistake that you make.
[3] China needs English talent. China needs people who can enjoy losing face. I hope that you will use your English skills to do something truly outstanding in the future. If you set a clear goal for yourself and care deeply about your progress, you are sure to succeed. Nothing is impossible when you believe in yourself. Now is the right time to decide once and for all that you will definitely master English!
[4] Keep in mind that even the government is taking steps to promote English. Even government officials feel the need to speak English now. If China wants to leave a deep impression on the rest of the world, Chinese people must not feel nervous about their ability to communicate in English. It doesn't matter if you are in the business world or simply a student! Imagine how special you will feel and what a pleasure it will be to help a tourist find the nearest bathroom, or to chat with him about the local weather. When you help others, it feels absolutely terrific!
[5] You can change the world and make it a better place by learning a foreign language. So, stop saying that your memory is poor. Don't worry about the number of vocabulary words that you know. Shake off your fear of saying the wrong thing! Learn some helpful and useful sentences.

Today the quality of our natural environment has become an important issue. The world population is rising so quickly that the world has become too crowded.
We are using up our natural resources and at the same time polluting our environment with dangerous chemicals. If we continue to do this, life on earth cannot survive.
Pollution has been a serious problem for a certain time around the world. There are many causes for it. Transportation is the main factor of pollution. When the waste gas from cars is released, the air is polluted. People breathing in the polluted air can develop respiratory disease. Another factor is that
people throw their garbage everywhere. All kinds of garbage not only spoil the splendid environment, but also cause environmental pollution. Wastewater from factories is also poured into rivers and this causes water pollution
Concerned people have made some progress in environmental protection. Governments of many countries have established laws to protect the air, forests and sea resources and to stop environmental pollution.
Still more measures should be taken to solve environmental problems. People should be further educated to recognize the importance of the problems, to use modern methods of birth control, to conserve our natural resources and recycle our products. We are sure that we can have a better and cleaner place in the future.

This year's summer vacation was most enjoyable. I spent fifteen days helping my grandparents doing farm work in the countryside， where I saw mountains and fields covered with green plants. Sometimes I went swimming in the river to the west of the village， the water in which was quite clear.
I kept a diary every day. Besides doing farm work， I help the children in the neighborhood with their lessons. All of them showed much interest in English. They could read and write well， but they could hardly understand si-mp-le English. So every day in the morning I spent about two hours helping them improve their listening and spoken English. I believe that most of us have a dream of ma-ki-ng my voice heard.
For example, when you come up with a good idea, you would like to make your voice heard;When you have a talented speech before a person who you have liked a long time ago deliberately , of course you want to make your voice heard by him; When you drown in a river, absolutely ma-ki-ng your voice heard is the most important thing that you are eager to do.
